Point11 Consulting Inc. was founded in 2019 by Oliver Lamaca, following nearly 20 years of executing someone else's vision and philosophy. Driven by a clearer vision, Oliver set out to build a company that delivers software and services the right way — by always putting clients’ best interests first. At Point11, we believe that our clients' success is our success. That principle guides everything we do.
Point11 is a Philosophy
In 2017, our founder’s son Dylan Lamaca missed qualifying for the Ontario provincial high school finals in the 400m hurdles by just 0.11 seconds. His time ranked 12th fastest out of the 24 eventual provincial finalists, but due to the regional qualification structure, only four athletes advanced per region.
Dylan had run the race of his life in the Metro Toronto finals. He dominated his heat by over 1 second and believed he’d done enough. But in the next heat, four runners pushed one another to go even faster — edging him out of qualification by 0.11 seconds.
That moment was a hard lesson: it’s not just about how hard you are working — it’s about how hard others are working around you.
That 0.11-second gap became a symbol. It is a reminder of the thin line between good and great, between comfort and competition, between showing up and standing out.
